Text Box: Being selected by the State of Ohio to design the Prototype Full Service County Jail adds yet another building type to the architectural/planning firm of Wachtel and McAnally’s long list of projects being provided for County Commissioners throughout the State of Ohio.  Using this as a stepping stone, the firm continues to grow and diversify with projects encompassing both the public and private sectors.
The prototype county jail is a no-frills, full service, multi-classification jail design that is compliant with the minimum standards for jails in Ohio.  It is a cost effective, site adaptable design that has the flexibility to meet the basic needs of a wide variety of jurisdictions.
Wachtel & McAnally Architects has designed jail facilities for over 20% of the counties within the State of Ohio and juvenile facilities for many counties as well.  The firm believes that a successful project is dependent upon good communication with the owner throughout all phases of a project.  They also maintain an excellent relationship with the Bureau of Adult Detention and the Ohio Department of Youth Services.  This has assisted Wachtel & McAnally Architects in the design of correctional facilities and ensures economical construction and more importantly economical operation.
The firm has also provided many other building types throughout Ohio to the public & private sectors including the Text Box: new Licking Valley High School, The Newark Public Library, the Licking County Domestic Court Building, the Perry County Department of Job & Family Services Building and a new 100,000 sq. ft. office building for a Financial Group.  They are currently designing a new Court / Justice Building for Hocking County, a new County Annex Text Box: Mission Statement

Building for Clinton County, a Juvenile Detention Facility for Fairfield, Licking, Hocking and Perry Counties, the Washington County Jail and several projects for the Licking County Commissioners.
