Public Schools broke  ground on a new school building for the first time in 25 years on 12/18/01 at Linden Elementary School.   The new school will replace the two existing buildings , Built in 1905 and 1921, respectively.  Students will continue to use the existing facility until  Construction on the new school is completed in 2003.
 More than 100 people , including Governor Taft and Mayor Cole man , attended the  event.

Architectural Firms Fanning/Howey Associates, Inc. and Moody Nolan, Inc. collaborated on the design of Linden Elementary School.  Several options were considered before choosing the design represented here.
